Here’s a handy little 410 Bore shotshell for when you want to show predators just how unwelcome they are on your property. Although truth be told, we expect most of this ammo will get snapped right up by Judge and Governor owners who want shells that are good for the range and home defense.
This shell contains exactly three pellets of 000 buckshot. That is a 0.36” diameter lead ball which weighs approximately 70 grains – quite different from a pellet of 00 buck, which is 0.03” narrower in diameter and weighs 16.2 grains less. The shell’s shot column will strike a close-range target with over 700 ft lbs of kinetic energy when fired from a shotgun’s barrel, and such heavy pellets retain plenty of momentum over longer distances. All in all, the short 2-1/2” shell is powerful enough to put a premature end to any coyote’s (or home invader’s) career.
This round features a traditional felt wad, brass-plated steel cap, and smooth plastic tube that ends in a smooth-feeding roll crimp. (Winchester identifies this shell’s shot as steel on their site, but it is in fact made of lead.)
