This particular 6.5 CM ammo came all the way from the Czech Republic so you can turn any medium-size game into your trophy. It features a simple soft point bullet, which has a copper-zinc alloy jacket that leaves the tip of its solid lead core uncovered at the tip. At 156 grains the bullet is light enough to pass through a 21.75” barrel to hit a muzzle velocity of 2,444 fps. The bullet’s sleek ballistic profile and small boat tail help it conserve enough energy to ethically harvest a whitetail at ranges beyond 400 yards. Once the soft point’s tip connects with the hide, it will deform, flatten out, and inflict a wider wound channel than a standard FMJ or HPBT could have managed. The bullet’s tough gilding metal jacket doesn’t completely prevent fragmentation, but it promotes sufficient weight retention to ensure penetration to the vital zone.
